Sash managed to catch her before she got all the way to the floor and pulled her up. He supported her weight and pulled her in closer. The sudden contact was like an electric charge. He swept her off her feet and placed her back on the sofa. "You stay there," he said, in a patronly tone. She just nodded. "Pleasure to meet you," Harrison said, smiling pleasantly. "Have you gotten settled into your quarters yet?" Sash inquired. "No, sir, not yet," he replied. ~Shoot! Wonder where my bag is?~ "Then I suggest you do that. It's to late in the evening to start work. Come and see me tomorrow and we'll get you started." "Thank you, sir." He saluted once more, turned and saluted to Commander Williams, then turned and walked smartly out into the corridor. He wandered down the corridor a little way until he came to a map of the ship. ~Alright, let's try out this fancy computer system~ "Computer, where are Ensign Harrison's quarters?" he asked, pressing the relevant button and feeling relatively stupid. The computer told him and he walked off. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Ensign Harrison's Quarters - Ensign John Harrison -19:47) He strolled in to find his bag was already on his bed. He smiled at the surprisingly big room. It wasn't huge, but it was bigger than he expected. It was very nice, very cosy, and best of all it had a porthole, through which he could see the people of Starbase Geneva going about their business. He unpacked his bag, chose a good book, and relaxed in his new home. (posted by James Batchelor) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain's Quarters- CO- Captain Devan Sash- 2345) Sash lay in bed. This had been one of the strangest days he'd had in a long time. He wondered what could possibly top it. =^=Lee to Captain Sash, got a few minutes? I've got a few important Marine things to talk to you about.=^= Sash shook his head. He should have known better. Sitting up he tapped his comm badge beside his bed. He knew this had to be something good, this late at night. "Then you'd better come and see me Lt." =^=On my way.=^= Sash got up and found some comfortable clothes to put on. It wouldn't do to meet the MCO in his skivies. He got dressed and had the replicator make a pot of coffee. He put the coffee on the coffee table, poured himself a cup and waited for Lee to arrive. (reply Lee) (posted by Al Muir) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain's Quarters - 1st Lt Richard Ian Lee - 2350) Rich pushed the buzzer, and stepped inside when allowed. The Captain, such as he was, looked exceptionally tired. The smell of coffee filled the room, leaving Rich's mouth dry and forcing his stomach to do slow turns as he considered the sight he had just beheld. He was still fingering his side-arm in a twitchy manner. Death was no stranger to him, he had seen plenty, but rarely did he ever see someone summarily executed... ~Assuming he executed him. I don't know that.~ HE came to loose attention before the CO could say anything. "Sir, in a roundabout way, I think I'm supposed to be telling you to go find Zach Falthgood and talk to him. He..." he paused for a moment, "Sir, he has a dead body tied up in some quarters. He had a few extra things with him, and he looked.. Haunted... In a way. He left the quarters right after me, said he would be at his own place. It apparently was important. He also wants me to get in contact with Security, he says he is being watched and any use of the Comm, especially from the quarters of Lieutenant Vadhagh, would be traced." Lee fell silent, he didn't know anything concrete, he had come into this blind not fifteen minutes ago and was confused as hell. He waited for Sash, his mind's eye kept returning to the body though... (reply: Sash) (posted by Trout) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain's Quarters - CO- Captain Sash- 2352) Sash answered the door chime finding the MCO standing at a loose attention. He invited the MCO in and both men continued to stand as Lee spoke. He also wants me to get in contact with Security, he says he is being watched and any use of the Comm, especially from the quarters of Lieutenant Vadhagh, would be traced." Then Lee went silent, leaving Sash a moment to think about what was said. The captain could tell that Lee seemed to have more to say, but he also knew that if he wanted tosay it, he probably would have. "Being watched, did he say by whom?" Sash inquired. "Not directly, Sir." Rich said, grimly. "He said the man he found was directly in charge of sabotuaging the engines, and that there were more of 'em. And, that you knew he was searching." Sash thought for a moment. "Yes, I knew he was looking for someone, potentially someone who could or would destroy the Nimitz. I gave him clearance to do what was necessary. Time is of the essance here. Was that a mistake?" Rich considered for a moment, then finally said "You are asking the wrong Marine, I've been through hell to save the ship and Ive seen what motivated people can do. Give me some time to wrap my brain around this concept, and I'm sure the morality issues won't bother me any longer." The captain had been through his share of hell aswell, and the fact that the marine had moral issues at this moment worried him. But there's not much more for him to do about it now. "All right Lt.," Sash finally said, "I guess I better go and find out what our CSO is up to. Was there anything else?" Rich came to loose attention, "No, Sir." "Very well Lieutenant, dismissed." Rich nodded, "Sir." and spun around. He made his way out the door and into the passageway. He considered talking to Security, but he hadnt been given enough information, he would have to wait on the Captain for that. He shook his head as he started walking down the corridor. He and Zach would have to have a talk later. Having showered and dressed in his new starfleet uniform, he walked over to the replicator and ordered breakfast. He was impressed at how good it tasted for something that had just materialised before him. He walked out of his quarters and asked the computer where the captain was. Unsurprisingly, he was on the bridge, so Harrison headed for the turbolift. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - Ship's Counsellor - Ensign John Harrison - 0745) He stepped out onto the bridge, and was instantly overwhelmed by how incredible it looked. Nothing on Geneva, the transport vessel, or anything he'd seen on the Nimitz so far compared to this. The captain was sitting in his chair. Harrison walked smartly up to him and saluted once more. "Ensign Harrison reporting for duty, sir." ~How many times have I asked that?~ he thought with a smile. (reply Sash) (posted by James Batchelor) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash - 0745) Sash sat in his chair, contmplating his day's activities. The evening with Vanyssa had left him a bit on edge, but as usual, nothing can prevent him from sleeping when he wants. He watched as his new counselor came on the bridge and came up to himwith a salute. "Ensign Harrison reporting for duty, sir." Sash smiled at the man. "Ensign Harrison, at a much more appropriate time. As much as I appreciate military protocal, Ensign, it is not recquired to salute me. Relax soldier, you'll live longer." He hoped that counselor got his little joke, but the man just looked perplexed. ~Oh, well.~ "Have a seat Counselor." Sash knew that the counselor would be looking for something to do. He needed to get to know the crew and how they relate to each other. He had gotten used to having Betazoid counselors, with Vanyssa, and then Salahali. It would be different having a human counselor for a change. (reply Harrison) "Well, counselor, Ithink it would be a good idea for you to get to know the crew a little. Perhaps you should set up a series of appointments for the command staff so that you can get to know them and get a general feel of how they are doing. I suggest you start with your assistant, Ensign Salahali." (reply Harrison) (posted by Al Muir) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash - 0746) "Have a seat Counselor." Harrison sat in the chair to the captain's left, and it was in that moment, sitting on the bridge of a Sovereign-class starship, wearing a starfleet uniform, that he truly felt a part of the crew. "Thank you, sir," he replied politely, "What are your orders, sir?" "Well, counselor, I think it would be a good idea for you to get to know the crew a little. Perhaps you should set up a series of appointments for the command staff so that you can get to know them and get a general feel of how they are doing. I suggest you start with your assistant, Ensign Salahali." "Yes, sir." He rose, fighting the urge to salute, and walked smartly off the bridge. He decided against speaking to the bridge crew at this precise moment since they were all busy. He had all day, he reasoned. As the turbolift doors shut, he said "Deck 7" and the lift began to move. He thought about how he should meet the crew and opted for a more informal meeting in Ten Forward. It would be less daunting for them (and himself!). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Deck 10 - Ship's Counsellor- Ensign John Harrison - 0750) As the lift reached Deck 10, he wandered the characters. He eventually found Ten Forward, though it was fairly empty at the moment. ~Now that I know where it is, I can start to find my fellow crew members~ he thought. He walked back into the corridor and went to one of the map terminals. "Computer," he said, "Tell me the location of Ensign Salahali." (reply Salahali as the computer, cos i don't know where you are) Satisfied, Harrison headed for the turbolift. (posted by James Batchelor) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - CSO Saleke - 08:23) Stepping through the lift doors and onto the bridge Saleke looked quickly around to familiarize himself with the activity. The Captain was sitting in the command chair and all the stations were manned with the exception of Science 2 and Engineering 2. Knowing that proper protocols and that his initial report to the bridge was expected he walked around the command chairs where he could be seen by Sash and bowed his head in respect rather than the energetic salute he had given him in his Ready Room. Sash had a "Presence" on the bridge that could almost be palpably felt just as all good Captains seem to have. "Captain, Ensign Saleke reporting for bridge duty." (Reply: Captain Sash) "I apologize for my tardiness Captain; I was setting up an experiment that I will monitor from Science 1. Request permission to assume my station sir." (Reply: Devan Sash) (Posted by Charles) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash - 08:24) "Captain, Ensign Saleke reporting for bridge duty." Sash smiled up at his CSO. He was surprised to not to see the Vulcan at his station. He got the impression that Saleke was an early riser. "Good morining Ensign. A little late today aren't you." "I apologize for my tardiness Captain; I was setting up an experiment that I will monitor from Science 1. Request permission to assume my station sir." Sash should have known better than to jest with a Vulcan. It was like fighting an unarmed man. "Absolutely Ensign, take your post. I understand repairs to the warp core are proceeding and I want a full analysis of the area before we take her out for a test drive." (reply Saleke) (posted by Al Muir) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS NIMITZ - Bridge - CSO Saleke - 08:25) Saleke stood in a relaxed pose before the Captain and waited for his reaction, the smile he saw was not what he had expected. The Captain's manner from the day before had seemed to the Vulcan to be a little on edge initially as though something were weighing on his mind, he had however today a very relaxed manner. Weighing the two Saleke came to the logical conclusion that the problems with the warp core had most likely been responsible for his former demeanor and with the repairs nearly completed Sash was assuming his normal style which seemed good to the Vulcan; some Captains from what he had heard could be hard to deal with but Captain Devan Sash did not appear to be one of those. He listened intently as Sash spoke. "Good morining Ensign. A little late today aren't you." Considering that the remark was pertinent to the facts and Saleke was a polite individual there was no alternative but a full apology and explanation; Saleke resolved not to let such a happening occur again. "I apologize for my tardiness Captain; I was setting up an experiment that I will monitor from Science 1. Request permission to assume my station sir." "Absolutely Ensign, take your post. I understand repairs to the warp core are proceeding and I want a full analysis of the area before we take her out for a test drive." "Affirmative Captain," Saleke replied. "I shall run a full sensor sweep immediately as per your order and monitor the experiment afterward. If I might say something Captain; there was an Anomaly encountered recently and the experiment is concerning that encounter. The most pertinent report was incomplete but there is an 89.3 percent probability that this experiment will adequately supplement the faulty report. I assure you the issue has already been dealt with this morning and the incident will not be repeated." (Reply: Captain Sash) (Posted by Charles) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay - CMO - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid - 0910) As the medical tricorder and the biobed scan results came back to shed some light on this conspiratorial crime incident, Captain Sash immediately entered the sickbay and said. "What happened here? And who is that man?" Kinkaid said after analyzing the scans, "Captain, this is.I mean. this was Petty Officer Hakeswell. According to the ship's manifest, Hakeswell was assigned to the Engineering section." Kinkaid turned and looked at Sash with deep concern in his eyes as the Chief Medical Officer and continued on. "Hakeswell's persons.I mean.body was sedated, Sir, due to a shatter rib bone and would have been unable to move on his own with the makeshift brace attached to his side to re-generate the bone that was shattered. When I found him a few moments ago, his body was turned in this current position, which caused the regenerated rib bone to puncture his lung and cause severe hemorrhaging of the main artery to the heart resulting in his drowning in his own blood." Kinkaid made one further observation as he handed Sash the analysis report. "Sir, whatever transpired here Hakeswell did not see or feel anything that happened to him." (Reply CO, Sash) Captain Sash appeared to be perplexed on the situation, but Kinkaid understood what Sash was grasping at and added further detail about Hakeswell along with some pertinent information involving Commander Wilson, the XO. Kinkaid thought for a few minutes after he stated the possible involvement of Commander Wilson with Hakeswell. ~ Having a senior Starfleet officer involved this matter was borderline criminal, which could result in court martial and jail time for those parties involved. ~ Kinkaid did not want to be party to this possible conspiracy. He loved being the ship's doctor and being aboard the USS Nimitz was every Starfleet officer's dream. Kinkaid thought some more. ~ I do not want to jeopardize my career with this madness that is brewing! ~ (Reply CO, Sash) (Posted by Nathan M. Williams) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay - CO - Captain Devan Sash- 0913) "Captain, this is...I mean... this was Petty Officer Hakeswell. According to the ship's manifest, Hakeswell was assigned to the Engineering section." Kinkaid turned and looked at Sash with deep concern in his eyes as the Chief Medical Officer and continued on. Sash's concern was as much that he really didn't recognize the man. He had seen the name on the ships roster, but he had managed to escape actually meeting his captain. "And how did manage to be in sickbay?" "Hakeswell's persons... I mean...body was sedated, sir, due to a shattered rib bone and would have been unable to move on his own with the makeshift brace attached to his side to re-generate the bone that was shattered. When I found him a few moments ago, his body was turned in this current position, which caused the regenerated rib bone to puncture his lung and cause severe hemorrhaging of the main artery to the heart resulting in his drowning in his own blood. Sir, whatever transpired here Hakeswell did not see or feel anything that happened to him." "Well I'm sure that will be a great relief to the crewman," Sash shot out sarcastically. He looked at the PADD the doctor had handed him. He was no doctor, but he did have some extensive emergency medical experience during the wars. Even he could see that there was no way that Hakeswell could have turned over on his own. This was a deliberate act. hakeswell was murdered. ~Great, that's all I need.~ He could tell that the doctor was quite uncomfortable with the situation. He stammered his way through the explainations, but he seemed to be holding something back. There was more to this. "Doctor, how did Hakeswell break his rib," Sash became more insistant. "Why was he here in the first place." He folded his arms looking from the dead body to the doctor, waiting for an adequate response. (reply Kincaid) (posted by Al Muir) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Stardate:2406.06.21 USS Nimitz - Sickbay - CMO - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid - 0914) Kinkaid knew that his medical-filled responses about Hakeswell well-being and his presence in sickbay were not what Sash wanted to hear. Sash folding his arms looking away from the dead body of Hakeswell to his CMO and said, "Why was he here in the first place?" Kinkaid realized that Sash wanted specific answers on what was going on in Sickbay and on his ship. Kinkaid set his medical PADD and tricorder down onto the biobed and looked at his captain in the eyes before replying. "Sir, to my knowledge I was informed by Ensign Kateb and Commander Wilson about a mission to located and detain Hakeswell in his quarters believing that he was one of the key personnel involved in the sabotage of the warp engines and other instants aboard prior to the Nimitz arriving at Starbase Geneva. My participation was only as a precaution if there were any injuries to the detaining party." Kinkaid paused for a moment to catch his breath and then continued on by saying, "Due to the high risk of Hakeswell being combative, he was sedated where my presence was needed to monitor his vital signs while my team transported him to Sickbay." Sash became very interested in Kinkaid's statements and wanting to learn more from his CMO. Kinkaid remembered that Sash asked about Hakeswell's rib bone and how it was broken. Kinkaid was unsure on how to response to the rib bone question, but gave it a try anyway. "I'm not sure how Hakeswell's rib bone became broken or in this case shattered. The only thing I can conclude, Sir, is that a Brikkarian entered Sickbay with Commander Wilson. The purpose for this is unknown to me. I was distracted by Commander Wilson in my office and the Brikkarian was alone with Hakeswell when the bone was [shattered]. I do not know what the Brikkarian and Hakeswell converse about when the incident occurred. My presence was, again, required due to Hakeswell being in intense pain from his side." (Reply CO, Sash) Kinkaid felt like a stool pigeon; chirping upped a storm on fellow Starfleet officers. It was not like Kinkaid to do that, but his captain required specifics and he gave it. (Posted by Nathan M. Williams) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay - CO - Captain Devan Sash - 0920) Wilson, and Tagon, why was he not surprised. But then with the mention of Kateb Sash found his anger growing. It seemed obvious by the doctor's reaction, that he was probably not suposed to mention this incident to anyone. He wasn't sure how that would sit with Wilson, but at least Sash knew where Kincaid's loyalties lay. "Thank you doctor," he said, "I appreciate your confidence in being honest with me. I want you to do a full autopsy to make sure of the cause of death. I don't want there to be any doubt, whatsoever. If you don't mind I'll wait in your office." With that Sash turned to let the doctor get on with his work. When he got in the office he knew he had one job that had to be taken care of immediately. He tapped his comm badge. "Captain Sash to Ensign Kateb, I need to see you in sickbay, immediately." "Computer freeze program." and tap her combadge. "I'm on my way Sir!" "You keep practicing, I want to have an alive hostage this time." Onyx immediately left the holodeck. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay - CMO - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid & Nurse Janet Sanders - 0921) Captain Sash was not in the greatest mood after hearing from Kinkaid, but felt a bit relieved nevertheless. Kinkaid looked on as Sash said, "Thank you, Doctor, I appreciate your confidence in being honest with me. I want you to do a full autopsy to make sure of the cause of death. I don't want there to be any doubt, whatsoever. If you don't mind I'll wait in your office." "By all means, Sir, my office is your office!" Kinkaid said feeling like a huge weight has been lifted from his shoulders. Kinkaid then turned his attention to his work. The autopsy of Hakeswell would not be a task taken ever so lightly. Janet could not help but eavesdrop on the conversation between her boss and the captain. She knew sincerely that BigWill was telling his captain the truth. Janet saw her boss in a position that would have crimpled the morale of the medical department on the ship if there were not any truths about the matter. Janet finished cataloging the hypospray samples into the medical database. She wandered over to Kinkaid's position to render her assistance to him, if any. "BigWill, is there anything I can do for you?" Janet said in a whisper not to alarm her boss from his concentration. Kinkaid turned his head towards the whisper and sigh of joy came over his face. "Oh, Janet, am I glad you are still here. I thought you had left when Captain Sash and I were in conference." Kinkaid said whispering to Janet. He knew in his heart that there was only one other person he could trust in his moment of need that was Janet Sanders. "With all the strange things going on aboard the ship, I rather be here in sickbay with you." Janet said reassuring her boss. "Well, let's get down to business, shall we." Kinkaid said pointing to the tray with the instruments of surgery. (Reply, None) (Posted by Nathan M. Sash was standing in the doorway to the doctor's office when he heard Kateb's voice. "In here Ensign." He went and sat behind the desk. Onyx walked in with a question look on her face. "Yes Sir!" She didn't see the body yet. The door to the office closed and Sash indicated to the seat beside him. His face was grim and he wasn't exactly sure where to start. "Ensign, is there a man here in sickbay in custody?" "Yes and there's suppose to be a security officer at the entrance... I will have to talk to Lt. Correy, he was the one here this morning. Hakeswell is suppose to be transferred in the brig this afternoon... what is going on?" Sash looked Kateb straight in the face. "Crewman Hakeswell is dead. Apparently he was moved during the course of the morning causing his healing body to kill itself." Onyx wasn't happy one bit and she had a strange feeling about this. "No one was suppose to see him, only me and the doctor with his staff... I received a last report before the change of shifts... at 0800, from Lt. Correy who started is shift, another report telling me that Dr Kincaid left to eat." Sash was working hard at not being irritated. "I suppose the question, other than why is Hakeswell dead, is why was he arrested in the first place and put under such security measures?" "Hakeswell as a spy to do such things as sabotage. Also, he as a past with Wilson. Hakeswell, in front of witnesses threaten Wilson to kill him and also other plans of revenge, proving that he is a security risk for the Nimitz. It's all in the report I have given you yesterday. Yesterday, when I went to the brig and saw that Hakeswell wasn't there and was still in sickbay I went there. The doctor didn't want me to go talk to him, but I went and took a good look at him, his patient was sedated, no way of having a conversation with the man. I had to wait tomorrow morning or afternoon. I wrote in my report that the Doctor told me that Comdr. Wilson and a Brikkar called Tagon was with him and interrogated him without my knowledge. Also, Comdr Wilson didn't tell me later on that evening that he questioned the man." Onyx added. "Wilson asked me to increase security around Hakeswell." "So what happened to those security measures?" Sash asked. "When I got here there was nobody outside. I want to know who got in here. What the hell is going on with the security on this ship?" "At 0810, Lt. Correy was there... I pass by him to say hello before going to the training holodeck and tell him that this afternoon him and I were going to train together... he is interested in Klingon fighting style... computer... Where is Lt. Correy?" [Lt Correy is in his quarters!] "His quarters?" Sash asked, "computer what is his status?" [Lt. Correy is in sleep mode in his living-room] "Captain, may I suggest that we go to the Lieutenant's quarters right away... something doesn't feel right." "I agree," Sash replied. "Something stinks here. And I have a bad feeling that our Mr. Wilson is at the bottom of the dung heap." Sash stood back, willing to let his SC do her job. "Go ahead." He prepared himself, but did not pull out his weapon. Onyx open the door and crouch taking one step in the entrance, there was nothing. She slowly rose and walk a few steps. "Computer, lights!" Immediately the lights turn on. "It's clear captain... Lt. Correy is on the floor." She examined his quarters, everything was clear. She pulled out a tricorder and bent over the lieutenant, there was a cup of coffee near bye on the floor, some of the contents spilled on the carpet. "Lt. Correy was sedated, but now he is breathing badly." Onyx turn him over to his back. Sash tapped his comm badge. "Sash to Kincaid. doctor we've got another one for you. We're transporting Ensign Correy to sickbay right now. He's unconscious and not looking to good." (reply Kincaid) "Computer, emergency medical transport. Transport Ensign Correy to sickbay." "It's probably not Lt. Correy that I have talked to but someone did report that the Doctor left to go eat at 0840 hrs this morning." "I want you to check to internal sensor logs, see who was at sickbay, at that time. Meanwhile, I'll head back to sickbay to check on Correy, and have another chat with the doctor. Kinkaid concluded in his medical log that Hakeswell was indeed silenced by a highly potent unknown sedative and having the body turned onto the front side causing the rib bone graph to puncture the lung resulting in hemorrhaging of the main artery to the heart thus Hakeswell drowned in his own blood. Janet knew something was fishy when she analyzed a tissue sample with the medical tricorder. She detected high trace amounts of Anesthezine, a very potent knockout gas. "Doctor, I think you need to check this out reading out." Janet showed her findings to Kinkaid. Kinkaid took Janet's sample and compared it with his tissue sample. He could not believe what his eyes were looking at. In both samples, there were high trace amounts of Anesthezine. Kinkaid quickly annotated this information in his log medical log. The comm channels to sickbay activated. It was Captain Sash. =^= Sash to Kinkaid. Doctor, we're got another one for you. We're transporting Ensign Correy to sickbay, right now. He's unconscious and not looking good. =^= Kinkaid tapped his comm badge and replied. =^= Kinkaid to Sash. I'll have sickbay stand-by, Sir. =^= Kinkaid instructed Janet to activate the emergency sickbay transporter and prepare for the arrival. As the transporter beam energized, an unconscious person materialized into view. The patient was Ensign Correy, a member of the security assigned to sickbay while Hakeswell was recovering. John was about to break every rule he had been every taught and possibly as a result land himself in very hot water. "Captain Sash I guess we need to have a proper talk." "I think," Sash said dryly, "that that is the uderstatement of the month. We had a deal, Commander, and I use that term temporarily. I put some amount of trust into you and then you failed to keep your end of the bargain. I think it's time I know the real reason you are here." "About my real orders sir!" John stated shifting in the seat even more, he was used to people not liking him however Sash's mistrust was cutting deeper. John pondered his words very carefully, there was no doubt going to be reprisals for this. "Captain Sash, my official orders came not from LoDona but from other members of the 52nd command. They had become aware of certain cells that had been reactivated on our break and that these cells were posing a clear and present danger. However our intelligence network was totally compromised by the fact we had broke from the fleet. Therefore an establishment of a new network was necessary, however numerous peoples in that organisation have questionable loyalty. Therefore one man who used to work for command knows most of these people Blackford. However the problem arises from the fact that certain people know myself and Blackford know a lot of these people. Therefore the obvious course was to transfer both of us to a ship to keep our heads down. However it appears certain people have followed us in an attempt to take out Blackford and me. If you kill me I know of about 4 members, however Blackford knows about 40 pushing 50 of them. So he is a very valuable source however he is not the most cooperative of people. His t and c was I came with him, however if he was to eliminate me then that leaves only him with the knowledge. Therefore I don't trust him either. So unfortunately Captain it would appear that myself and Mr Blackford has dragged you into a problematic situation." The captain worked hard to maintain his composure. he desperately wanted to reach across and grab the SFI man by the throat. "And that you, in your negligance to tell me the whole situation, has caused the ship, yourself, myself, and the other members of the crew, to be in mortal danger." "I apologise but I believe the only course from here is going to lead to a lot of problems and potential reprisals. However I fear we are stuck in this course now. I know once more I have no right but I need 10 minutes where you turn a blind eye. I promise after this is done I will confine myself to quarters and we can deal with the repercussions," Sash laughed so loud it suprised himself. "Ten minutes of a blind eye. You must be insane. I willnot give you ten seconds of a blind eye. I want to know of your where abouts at all times, and what you are planning to do. I will no longer tolerate this "spy crap" on my ship. You WILL inform me of your intentions sir, or I will seal you in an air lock until I remember to let you out. Is that clear?" "But of course Captain Sash, I intend of brining all of this to a close. I have bought enough time, in a few hours it will all be over," John stated. Sash looked at him dubiously. "A few hours? And why is that? What are you planning to do Commander? I am not inthe mood for any more of these games." "Captain let me be blunt, if you don't allow me to do this now you will be placing us all in mortal danger. I have no desire to see the ship nor her crew harmed. I will surrender myself to your judgement after this is done sir, however for now I need you to stand to sir!" John stated keeping his head facing forwards and shoulders flung back in standard military stance. Sash sat back down in his seat and scrutinized Wilson. As much as he didn't want to, he found himself trusting this man. He couldn't help it, there was just something about him. But till, how was he supposed to trust him, when it was obvious that he'd been lying since the moment he came on board. "Captain the situation is simple if you do not allow me to operate freely till 12:00 we will all pay the price." "No!" Sash said harshly. "As much as I want to trust you I'm finding myself in a dilema. I have no reason to trust you, nor no cause to disbelieve what you're saying now. So this is what I propose. You may go about your business, until 1200 hours. That gives you two hours. But I want you watched every moment." He tapped his comm badge, "Ensign Kateb, please some to my ready room." When the Acamarian came in Sash nodded to her. "Ensign, it appears that Commander Wilson's business will be concluded within the next two hours. I want him under close supervision. I will leave that up to you. I need someone there that I can trust." (reply Kateb) "Very well." Then he turned to Wilson. "Commander, at 1201, I will be expecting to hear from you personally on the results of your operation. Your clock is running. Dismised." (Reply CO, Sash) Nurse Janet Sanders entered sickbay and found her boss and Captain Sash in conference in the biobed area. She went to her station to prepare for duty. Janet had no idea what was going on until she walk pass the body of Hakeswell. Janet felt remorse and compassion for the body knowing that at one time it was a living being. Kinkaid glanced over his shoulder to see Janet staring at Hakeswell's body. He wanted to comfort Janet, but now was not the time with so much is at stake. Kinkaid was figuring out on how to proceed with the autopsy when the comm channel to sickbay activated. It was Commander Wilson. =^= Wilson to Kinkaid, Doctor I have no desire for injuries but be prepared for them. =^= Kinkaid looked to Sash as he responded. "Kinkaid to Commander Wilson... I understand the situation and will be standing by any injuries that occurred." (Reply XO, Wilson) Kinkaid did not fully comprehend the nature of Commander Wilson communication, but was ready for anything. It sounded like the climate Wilson was in was pretty heated. Commander Wilson came back on the channel. =^= What is the status of Hakeswell? =^= Kinkaid paused before responding. It was hard to tell if Wilson knew Hakeswell was deceased or was just concerned for his star witness's well being. Kinkaid turned to Sash for further counsel before making a reply. He took his PADD and started to review today's daily activities. Tom was so tired from the nap he could not even keep his eyelids open long enough to finish his reading if he didn't get a cup of coffee fast. After a few minutes of reading, Tom couldn't fight his sleepiness no more. His head fell down onto the table like a sack of rocks. Tom shouted "Ahh." as his head began to ache. "Ouch!" Tom felt his head was going to explode if he didn't get medical aid. Tom changed his clothes as fast as he could and started walking towards the medical quarters. (Reply, None) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate:2406.06.21 (USS Nimitz - Sickbay - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid/ Nurse Janet Sanders & TAC\ASC Ensign JG Tom Slytherwald - 1142) With all that has happened in sickbay lately, Kinkaid thought the end was almost here. Then, the sickbay doors slid open. Tom Slytherwald stumbled sickbay. Upon entering, Tom noticed that the doctor and nurse were resetting the medical sensors on one of the biobeds when he called out in intense pain. "Hello!? Can anyone here help me?? Please look at my head!! It hurts badly!" Tom cried out almost passing out from the pain. Tom staggered over into the biobed area trying to grab hold of something to keep himself from falling over onto the floor. "Nurse Janet Sanders, get that man to a biobed before he hurts something else!" Kinkaid shouted. Janet said in return, "I've got him, Doctor!" Kinkaid grabbed his medical tricorder and activated it quickly. As Janet assisted Tom onto the biobed, Kinkaid moved the portable probe over Tom's head. The scan showed mild swelling with a slight breakage of the skin causing a small amount of blood to ooze. "Nurse Sanders, I need a hypospray and a dermal regenerator, Stat!" Kinkaid said in a demanding way. Tom was able to sit up while Janet retrieved the requested equipment for her boss. "Damn, Doc, I'm glad I was able to find sickbay in time. The personnel I passed in the corridor thought I had a screw loose or something." Tom said trying to keep a little humor about the situation. "I, too, am glad you made it to sickbay", Kinkaid said as he applied the dermal regenerator to the swollen bump that was beginning to form. "Thank you, Doc", whispered Tom as he was getting up from the biobed. His head was still hurting, but felt much better after receiving medical attention. Kinkaid noticed that Tom was still in discomfort and immediately applied a hypospray for the pain. Tom realized that the pain had subsided when he said, "Well, Doc, I don't know what to say." Kinkaid looked at Tom and said in chivalrous way, "All in a days work, my friend!" Tom paused for a moment thinking that the doctor needed something more than a thank you for treating him. Tom had an idea and snap his fingers saying, "Hey, I like to repay you and Nurse Sanders for your kindness to me." Kinkaid and Janet turned and looked at each fearing that they started something that could spread like a plasma storm through out the ship. "I'm free at 1300 today. What do you say about a coffee, or Raktagino perhaps?" Tom asked as he felt that it's better to go to coffee than to read Tactical auxiliary handbooks, which he started reading couple of days ago. Kinkaid was in no position to pass up an offer of hospitality like that from a member of the crew. "I be honor to have coffee with you", Kinkaid paused on the time knowing that his schedule was kind of full until then and then said, "but, let's make it 1330, shall we?" Tom forgot that the doctor was a busy man and agreed with the proposed time. "Of course, 1330, it is." Tom then turned his attention towards Janet. "Nurse Sanders, would you like to join the doctor and myself for coffee at 1330?" Janet could not believe what was happening. This was the first time since joining Starfleet Medical that a patient had asked her to be part of a social outing. Since her boss, BigWill was going she couldn't refuse. "I like that very much, Ensign." Janet said blushing. Tom smiled, as he approached the sickbay doors, knowing that he made some new friends in the medical department. Before Tom exited, he turned to his new friends and said; "I'll see both of you at 1330 in Ten Forward." Kinkaid and Janet said without missing the beat, "We'll see you there!" The sickbay doors slid closed on another satisfied patient. (Reply, None) (Posted by Edward Marzich and Nathan M.
